Day Two

I'm feeling much better today!  I would say I'm 60% better than I was yesterday, but I look like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.  I think I used two boxes of tissues yesterday.

Considering Tom and I were both sick our NYE was really pathetic I think we were both asleep before 9 pm and yesterday spent the day sleeping.  I felt really bad for W as we were stuck in his room most of the day because it was the safest place for him to play while I was laying down.

Today though has been a fun day.  Took W to the mall to get his first pair of big boy shoes.  Even though the kid has been walking since 10 months of age he has only had soft bottom shoes.  He is moving up to the toddler room at school though so they require that he has hard bottom shoes.  He loved shopping and is enjoying wearing his new kicks.  By the way I child has HUGE feet.  I already knew that considering the first thing the one nurse said to me was his feet are huge.

We have spent the rest of early afternoon taking the Christmas decorations down, watching football, and baking chocolate chip cookies.  It is kind of funny that this year we never got around to making any Christmas cookies nor did anyone send us some, which is okay because it is better for the waistline.

The rest of the day I'll be cleaning house so I can enjoy my day off with W tomorrow.  While most of the world had Friday off - my work made Monday the holiday, which is fine by me because this will be our third four day work week in a row.  If only I could get that schedule every week - a girl can dream, can't she.

Once again - Happy New Year.

I hope you feel better soon. Being sick with a little one sucks. Your little one looks so adorable.

W is the opposite of Norah, who has munchkin feet (like her mom). She currently wears shoes that are between a 4 and a 5, and she's almost 17 months old!
