My husband wanted to make macaroons for Thanksgiving because he loves them. I on the other hand have never had a french macaroon, but thought the task wouldn't be too difficult.
My husband emailed me a recipe he found online and I wrote down the ingredients. During W's nap on Thanksgiving we attempted to make the cookies. It was a complete failure. I didn't think it was that complicated when we started but when they came out of the oven - they were sad looking cookies.
Since then I have been reading a lot about how to make macaroons. Apparently it is a difficult task that takes great skill and time. Tom has offically been defeated by the cookie but not me. I will try again and again till I get it right. I will not be defeated by the macaroon!
So, if you live in the Nashville area and know how to make a French Macaroon and could teach me that would be great! Otherwise next trial will be when my mother-in-law comes to town.
Hope everyone had a great Turkey day!

I am not much a fan of French Maroons. I love the Jewish ones that best especially if they are topped with chocolate.
I am glad that you are not giving up on attempting to make them and perfecting the recipe.
