This year I have had my ups and downs with running. I started off the year strong, and then I was derailed with vacation and moving. I then picked back up again. Yet, at the beginning of April I wasn't able to run - I was exhausted and I didn't know why. I found out a week later that I was pregnant, and then two weeks later the nausea hit me. I haven't been running really since. The last two weeks I've been feeling better and have gone for a few SLOW runs. And, even though my midwife says it is fine to run and I'm jealous of those who are pregnant and running I'm just not that into it right now.
I have been doing a prenatal yoga and prenatal pilates tapes. Plus, I've been walking 2-4 miles most days. Its not quite the same but at this point it will be my routine until
l the baby arrives.
This morning I did my prenatal yoga DVD. The routine is great but not what I was expecting when I ordered it. I picked it because it had the best reviews on Amazon. I think I'm into more aggressive style of yoga than this routine and I find it a little to out there for my taste. Yet, it is relaxing and I do stretch. I might look into another DVD, but we'll see how the next couple of weeks go. If anyone out there has suggestions I would love to hear them.
Tomorrow I will do my pilates review.

CONGRATS Nicole!!! That is amazing news! You'll have to get a jogging stroller for the baby after he/she arrives and then you can both go for a run! I'm very excited for you :)
maybe you'll find it better once you are farther along in your pregnancy as it might seem more aggressive at that point. Glad to hear you have started to feel better!
Choosing the best exercise for you while pregnant is -- like all the choices you'll have to make during pregnancy -- personal, and it should be based on what you're most comfortable with.
I have a prenatal yoga video I got from Target and it's decent. Like LeahC said, it may not feel like much of a workout now, but just wait a few months. The belly makes all those poses much harder!
YOu have to do what you are comfortable with. Even though you are not running, you are still staying active.
OH!!!! WOW!!!! Congratulations PbV! That is wonderful! How fun! Eat more so you don't feel so nauseous. I think you are doing great with walking and your yoga and pilates. Keep posting about how it goes! Congratulations again!
I think that's a very personal choice and whatever works for you is good. The fact that you're choosing to be active at all is great.
Congratulations, again! Very excited for you!
I have no idea what it's like to be preggers or exercising while pregnant but do what feels comfortable. You are staying active so that's key! good luck with everything!
Nicole Congratulations!!!! I'm in the same boat and not really running either, but I do a ton of walking to try and make up for it.
I've always enjoyed following your blog, and it's so fun to see that you're pregnant! I hope that you keep up the blog posting. Congrats again!!!
I did not do any athletic stuff while I was pregnant so I don't have anything to add. I hope the nausea has subsided for you. That's the only part that I did not like at all. I am excited for you and Tom.
