Today I had my second midwife appointment, which went really well. I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat which was really exciting! My midwife also said my baby was very active. Baby M is currently about 3 inches long or the size of a medium sized shrimp according to babycenter.com.
My next appointment isn't until 20 weeks which seems really far away right now, but that is when we get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I can't wait.
In other news I'm feeling much better and eating normal again!

So exciting!!! Hearing the heartbeat the first time is so magical! :) The time will pass by fast, even more so when the baby arrives... lol. Sleep now :D

Hearing the heartbeat is great, but havign the ultrasound at 20 weeks is the best! And glad to hear you're feeling better. I was sick until about the 20 week mark, and it was no fun.
That is really long between appointments though! Why seven weeks? For the first 7 months, I saw the dr every 4 weeks.

I'm so glad you are feeling better! Now the good pregnancy stuff can begin like watching your belly start to pop, and before you know it you'll start feeling baby movement. I think you'll like 2nd trimester, it's a fun place to be :)
My midwife sees her pts every 4-6 weeks during the first months or so. I'm healthy and as long as I don't have problems there is no need to go in before seven more weeks.
Cuckoo- I hope I enjoy it. Actually even being sick its been good - I love being pregnant just wish I could run.

You're just slightly behind a friend of mine. She was 20 weeks last week and found out it was going to be a blue baby. So going with a midwife are you planning an at home birth? I'm just curious cause you're the first one I know who is using one but I find it very cool as a friend of mine has gotten me all into the idea of full natural (not that I plan on it myself) at home and all that stuff so I find it interesting!

Wow--I'm catching up on WEEKS of posts today and just now read the news. How exciting! I'd love to know more about cravings and other food-related stuff along the way if there's anything you care to share. My husband seems to think I will crave meat if I'm pregnant. Ha!
